About Lauren Ansley
Conference Emcee | Corporate Workshop Facilitator | Audience Engagement Partner
Hi, I’m Lauren Ansley.
I’m a conference emcee, facilitator, speaker, and trainer who believes that connection is a skill, not a personality trait. And that every meeting, conference, or training session is an opportunity to practice. it.
Based in Charlotte, NC and available nationwide and virtually, I partner with organizations to create experiences where people feel genuinely connected - to the content, to the speakers, and to each other.
Why Connection is the Work
Connection doesn’t happen by accident. It has to be designed, facilitated, and sometimes gently nudged into existence.
I started my career in live performance and stand-up comedy in environments where audience feedback is immediate, honest, and completely unfiltered. There is no pause button. No second chance to win the room back once the energy has left.
That experience shaped everything about how I approach conferences and training today. I learned to read a room, adjust in real time, and create moments of participation that feel natural rather than forced.
Over time that evolved into something bigger: helping organizations design experiences where connection is intentional. Where people leave feeling energized, seen, and genuinely glad they showed up.
That is the Work the Room philosophy. And it is the foundation of everything I do.
How I work
My approach is facilitation-forward and grounded in real-time connection.
I pay close attention to the room, adjusting to audience energy and creating opportunities for participation that feel comfortable for a wide range of personalities and communication styles.
As someone who identifies as an introvert with extroverted tendences, I am especially aware that not everyone experiences meetings and conferences the same way. Connection does not have to be loud or performative to be real.
Whether I am emceeing a multi-day conference, facilitating a structured networking experience, leading a workshop or coaching a room full of speakers, my goal is always the same: create an environment where people feel comfortable participating and genuinely glad they showed up.
Who I work With
I work especially well with organizations and leaders who:
Have meaningful, content-rich agendas
Value connection, inclusion and audience experience
Want engagement without forced participation
Care about how people feel in the room
Want audiences leaning in instead of zoning out
My clients already know what they want to communicate. They are looking for a partner who helps the message land in a way people can actually feel and remember.
The Work the Room Framework
Everything I do falls under one of three spotlights:
Connect with Each Other
Structured networking, conference emceeing, and audience engagement.
Connect with Your Audience
Presentation skills, speaker coaching, and communication training.
Connect with NEW Ideas
Learning experience design, training facilitation, and my STICK framework.
